Avoid mold in the appartment

Mold occurs everywhere in the wild and is spread through the air. Our apartments are also threatened by mold: the fungi get into the apartments via doors, windows, clothing or food that has gone bad.

We reveal here some useful tips on how to avoid mold.

Proper ventilation:

Proper ventilation provides the necessary air exchange, which prevents mold from taking hold. Continuously tilted windows promote mold growth, because this causes the edges of the window to cool down particularly strongly and condensation then forms there. Multiple airing for 5-10 minutes a day is ideal. In winter, you should also make sure that the room temperature is not too high. In summer, you should ventilate at night or very early in the morning, otherwise the warm air, which has a high humidity enters the apartment.

Proper heating:

Do not let rooms cool down too much and stay constant with heating:

Ideal temperature in the bedroom: 16°-18° C (This promotes better sleep and at the same time avoids the formation of mold).

Ideal temperature for the living room and bathroom: 19°-21° C

Bathroom:

Due to the increased humidity in this room, multiple airings are especially important. If you do not have a window, you should turn on the electric ventilation every now and then. Also, make sure that the humidity from the bathroom does not spread to other rooms.

Kitchen:

Cooking also accumulates a lot of moisture in the kitchen. Don’t forget to use the steam vent and ventilate this room regularly as well.

Washing:

Wet or damp laundry in the home promotes mold growth. Dry your laundry on the balcony if possible

Regular cleaning:

Disinfect high-risk areas for mold regularly. With AnolinDes you can keep window edges, shower joints and surfaces in the kitchen free of bacteria, viruses and fungi.
